Activity 7

1.

A constellation (from the Latin constellatio) is a set of fixed stars or unrelated stars that form an imaginary pattern. They are separated into arbitrary groups into which the fixed stars have been divided.

Our modern constellation system comes from the ancient Greeks. The oldest description of the constellations as we know them has its origin in a poem, called Phaenomena, written around 270 BC by the Greek poet Aratus. ... These 48 formed the basis of Our modern constellation system.

2.

Currently, the North Star in the northern hemisphere is α Ursae Minoris which, located at the tail end of the Lesser Bear, is also known as Polaris or Cinosura, being the closest to the pole, which is less than one degree.

Inside the Planetarium it is night, we notice the apparent movement of the sky that helps us orient ourselves, we identify bright stars, we know constellations, ... That is why we ask for your understanding if we cannot offer you free places.

4.History:

The constellation represents the Lion of Nemea, a mythological beast born of Typhon and Echidna, and whose death was entrusted to Hercules in the first of his works. However, Hercules had a lot of trouble killing the animal, as its skin was impenetrable and no weapon could hurt it.

Main thought

Tycho Brahe proposed a model in which the Earth was at the center of the Universe, but with the planets revolving around the Sun.

The celestial movements are uniform, eternal, and circular or composed of different cycles (epicycles). The center of the universe is near the Sun. ... The retrograde motion of the planets is explained by the motion of the Earth.

Herschel observed an unrecorded object that at first glance looked like a comet: studying it carefully, he was soon able to determine that it was actually a new planet, Uranus.

Kepler tried to understand the laws of planetary motion for most of his life. At first Kepler considered that the movement of the planets had to comply with the Pythagorean laws of harmony

Edwin Hubble's early work at the Mount Wilson Observatory focused on the study of what were then known as nebulae. ... It was clear that some nebulae were in the galaxy and that they were basically starlit gas within it.
